Government Information

The following list offers a variety of sites to find government information available online for federal, state, international, and foreign levels of government.

The first hyperlink within selected sections below is designated UMLL -- for University of Minnesota Law Library.  Clicking on the UMLL link in these sections will take you to detailed hardcopy holdings (with locations and call numbers) of the University of Minnesota Law Library for the type(s) of material covered by that section.

As a member of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), UMLL selects 14% of the publications that are available to depository libraries in the List of Classes (see primer). Many of these publications are also available electronically on government web servers.  Though some of these publications may be available via GPO Access, many others are beyond the scope of that service.  Links to these publications are arranged (below) by the Superintendent of Documents (SuDocs) classfication numbers just as they are in the List of Classes.

• Cornell's Legal Information Institute (LII) offers full-text U.S. Supreme Court opinions from 1990- under the auspices of Project Hermes. Also includes current court calendar and schedule of arguments. Various search options. http://supct.law.cornell.edu/supct/
• FindLaw offers links to full-text, U.S. Supreme Court opinions from 1990- plus selective coverage of earlier opinions. Also includes calendar and argument schedules, background information on justices, related news sources, rules, and oral arguments.
