These subject headings are very broad. You may be able to narrow your search
in several ways. Using more specific headings is effective; Patent Infringement,
Patent Licenses, Copyright--Art, and Copyright--Computer Programs are all valid
subject headings. Another way to narrow your search is to search by
keywords. If relevant titles are located in this manner, note
the Library of Congress subject headings of the retrieved records and then
use those headings for further searching.

Databases for Intellectual Property Research
The library subscribes to several electronic databases that will be useful
for intellectual property research. Both Westlaw and Lexis have several patent,
trademark, and copyright databases.
LexisNexis
Copyright Law and Patent Law are both areas of law by topic in Lexis
and contain primarily federal case law and legislation. Among the included
intellectual property publications are Chisum on Patents, Nimmer on Copyright,
and Milgrim on Trade Secrets. Also within these databases are major intellectual
property periodicals, legislative history materials, and relevant trade
materials. Westlaw
Westlaw includes a wide variety of both primary and secondary
materials on intellectual property. “Drill down” through the online “Directory”
through “Topical Materials by Area of Practice” -> “Intellectual Property.”
There is a wide assortment of intellectual property federal and state databases
of cases and statutes as well as many secondary sources. There is also a
significant database of foreign law.
Other Databases
But in addition to Lexis and Westlaw, the Law Library has access to the
following specific databases:
Websites for Intellectual Property Research
In addition to all of the book, periodical, and electronic databases already
listed, there are a variety of free websites that may be important for your
intellectual property legal research. These websites are from government,
academic, and organizational sources.

one of the 16 specialized agencies of the United Nations system of
organizations. WIPO is responsible for the promotion of the protection of
intellectual property throughout the world through cooperation among States, and
for the administration of various multilateral treaties dealing with the legal
and administrative aspects of intellectual property. For foreign intellectual
property research, WIPO’s Collection of
Laws for Electronic Access (CLEA) provides access to legislation from a wide
range of countries and regions as well as treaties on intellectual property.
