Vicente E. GarcesProfessor of Legal Research InstructionUniversity of California at Los Angeles, B.A. Professor Vicente E. Garces specializes in the area of legal research and bibliography. He teaches and coordinates the library's legal research instruction program for first-year students. Professor Garces selects materials for the library's collection in most areas of state and federal law and in related interdisciplinary subject areas. He also provides reference service to the library's patrons and manages the library's web site. Professor Garces received his B.A. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master's degree in library and information science from the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his J.D. degree at the University of San Francisco School of Law. Professor Garces served as Senior Reference Librarian at the University of Oregon Law Library prior to joining the University of Minnesota Law School library faculty in 1996. Professor Garces is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and has served on several AALL committees. He is past president of the Minnesota Association of Law Libraries (MALL) and is a member of the MALL Executive Board. |
