Webcast Technical Requirements

This webcast will be streamed at 225 Kbps. Note: Our webcast delivers RealAudio 10 and RealVideo 10 only. Thus viewers will have to download and install the latest version of RealPlayer version 10 (see below for installation).  For users who do not like Real Player, the Real Alternative Classic Media Player may also be used.

Installing RealPlayer:

RealPlayer version 10 must be installed on any computer that will be used to view this webcast. It is available for free from: http://www.real.com/. It will take several minutes to install so users must be aware that they need to install prior to the scheduled start of the webcast at 12:15 p.m.

PC users:

RealPlayer is available for free from http://www.real.com/. After clicking on that link, simply choose the "Free Download" button on the right side of the page and follow the instructions on the next page on the right hand side of the screen for "Basic Player."

System Requirements:

RealPlayer version 10 minimum and recommended system requirements for PCs can be found here: http://www.real.com/moreinfo/playerplus_sysreq.html

Mac users:

RealPlayer version 10 is available for Mac OS X 10.2 (with Safari installed) or later (10.3 or later recommended): http://www.real.com/mac/

Linux users:

RealPlayer version 10 is also available for Linux users: http://www.real.com/linux/

Projection of the Webcast:

If you plan to project this webcast from a laptop computer, it is highly recommended that you use a laptop that is connected to your network by wire (e.g. Ethernet connection) and not by a wireless connection.

Installation Testing:

To test whether you have RealPlayer installed and ready to view, click on the RealPlayer test link below. If you see the video then you have properly installed RealPlayer.

Connection Testing:

You can run a RealPlayer connection test by opening RealPlayer, selecting Tools > Preferences, next selecting Connection on the left menu, and then selecting the Test Connection button in the center of the screen.
